Our Staff

Jonathan Hepner

Jonathan and Wendy established Jonathan Hepner Funerals in 1998.  Jonathan has completed a Certificate in Business Studies (Accounting) and industry specific training associated with Infection Control and Mortuary Preparation.  Jonathan’s experience has included all aspects of providing funeral care to families, which include visiting with families for both at-need and pre-need funerals, the conducting of funerals, the preparation that is needed in the mortuary and all aspects of managing a modern business.

Jonathan's hobbies include gardening, travel and tinkering with his 1925 Douglas motorbike which he has restored.

Wendy Hepner

Wendy started her career in the Hairdressing Industry.  Wendy has also managed ladies hairdressing salons and has worked for several salons in Geelong over the years. Wendy brings with her those special skills that are utilised in the mortuary, and her communication and organisational skills when assisting families with a bereavement.

When not at work Wendy enjoys time with the family, gardening and travel.

Lynn Yeomans

A teacher for 20 years, Lynn then worked in Palliative Care before joining the funerals industry. She completed Clinical Pastoral Education with St John of God Hospital at Ballarat, and Bereavement Studies with the A.F.D.A. (Australian Funeral Directors Association)

Lynn arranges and conducts funerals, plays a major role in office administration and is a funeral celebrant.

Lynn is a keen patchworker and embroiderer.

Lynn Heard

Lynn was a Senior, Veterinary Nurse, specializing in Dog training and Dog Behaviour for around 14 years. She has also worked with Royal District Nursing as a Unit Manager, and as a Nurses Assistant at Launceston General Hospital.

Lynn's role here is as a Funeral Assistant, Mortuary Attendant and assisting with Administration. As Mortuary attendant this role is very fulfilling. This is her opportunity to prepare a families loved one, and present to them, a memory that she hopes will last forever. When a family says 'thank you so much', her heart is warmed and she feels glad she was able to give them that lasting memory.

Geoff Clarke

Geoff's role is as a Funeral Directors Assistant.

Richard Duffield

Richard's role is as a Funeral Directors Assistant.

Jenny Illingworth - After care co-ordinator

Jenny worked as a Medical Secretary for around 8 years in a busy Geelong practice. The past 15 years her husband Greg and Jenny have been involved in Pastoral Ministry both locally and in the U.S. She enjoys the diversity of this because it involves working alongside people, bringing hope and direction and a sense of purpose to their lives.

Jenny's role at Jonathan Hepner Funerals as After Care Co-ordinator is one she loves. Being able to offer the recently bereaved, support and care and a "listening ear" is so important. Jenny sees it as essential that those who are experiencing great loss know that someone cares and is willing to be there for them.
